My Brother Jack

How cool is it when you're sitting in church one night and your son looks up at you and says "Mom, I wanna be baptized."  Lemme tell you, it's SO dang cool!  Jack accepted Christ into his heart back in December of 2013 when he was 6.  Because he was so young, we didn't jump to have him baptized because we wanted to make sure he grasped what it all meant first.  In the last year we've talked to him about baptism and he's seen several kids baptized in his Sunday school class.  Then at church last Sunday night, I was sitting in the sanctuary with Jack.  The pastor did an altar call, and invited anyone who hadn't been baptized to come to the front if they'd like to be.  Jack looked up at me and whispered "Mom, I wanna be baptized, but I do NOT want to walk up there right now." (We go to a very large church, and there were probably about 1000 people in the seats that night.)  Sooooo what did this mamma do? Naturally she contacted the pastor and asked for her son to be baptized on Easter Sunday, in front of a crowd of about 2500.  ;)  Jack was the first of 6 people to be baptized during the 9:30 service today, and you could tell he was so nervous when his sweet little face was projected onto the big screens in the sanctuary.  And afterwards he was so very excited, and wants to wear his "Forgiven" t-shirt to school on Monday. I couldn't be more proud.  Nope.  I just couldn't.

Here the guy is before he walked into the baptismal.

A few (blurry) pictures and a (fuzzy) video of him being dunked. May I introduce to you:  My brother Jack:

And a proud mamma and sister before the service began.  So very blessed am I.

If you don't know what baptism is.  Or who Christ is.  Or if you do know and you want to know more, how to do it, or how to live for Him...just ask me.  I'd love to tell you more.
