The video promises more details on Race for the Cure which includes pictures. Here ya go!!
In todays episode of Be a David, we discuss how a sweet man texted a woman's father to encourage a visit.
Yes, yes it's true. About 6 weeks ago David and I were on a walk around the neighborhood. On that walk I told him how much I wish my dad could come down for Race for the Cure. My mom had already planned to come, and I wanted to see him too. Partly because my dad is my hero and I miss him, and partly because I wanted him to see me one more time before I had no hair. The next day David texted my dad and said "I know it's expensive and tough to get here because you're working, but I need you to do this for her." The three of them (my dad, mom and David) proceeded to plan their visit behind my back in order to surprise me. I LOVE surprises and was completely floored that they made this trip. I was overjoyed and I felt so thankful and loved. A surprise for the record books.

Grampa selfie. I may or may not have had to teach him how to turn the camera around so he didn't have to turn his entire phone around.
My kids. Love them so much.
I love this particular picture. It captures a free, joyful girl and a beautiful sky. To me it represents hope, happiness, and new beginnings. Don't we all need those three things from time to time?
